Passion, Pure Enjoyment, and The Freedom that boating has to offer  is what drives us to excel.

Lakeshore Yacht Sales started in May of 2010 with a handful of listings from a dedicated clientele. We have grown through grit and determination to hosting an average of 65 premier listings. We attribute this to being able to offer a complete brokerage service to our clientele. We handle all aspects of the listing and selling process. We start with a friendly greeting followed by a complete market analysis of the potential listing, using all the tools available to us: SOLDBOATS, YACHTWORLD, BOATTRADER, BOATS.COM, NADA, etc.  LYS uses Advanced Marketing to get the exposure needed to sell the vessel.   HD Walk-Through Videos work!  We are able to get more exposure on Yachtworld, Boattrader, and Boats.com as well as the added exposure of Youtube.  We also use a HD Camera to show the boat in the right lighting to entice a prospective customer to come and view the boat.  Our buyers come from all over the United States as well as Overseas.

Dave Vander Werp

I grew up in Hudsonville, MI. I have been in the marine industry since I was 18. I started my marine career detailing boats. At the time, I owned my own auto detailing business in Grand Rapids. I decided to close my auto detailing business in order to pursue and work with my true passion - boats. Through my years in detailing, I have built up a dedicated clientele that has followed me in my career. I still enjoy detailing my clients boats, but I also list and sell them too. I lived at Great Lakes Marina on my 38' Chris-Craft Roamer during the summer of 2006 and that's when I fell in love with the community. In 2007, I decided to make my move to Muskegon, MI a permanent one. I purchased a home right down the road from the marina and I couldn't be happier. In 2010, I wanted to make a slight change in my marine career. Opening Lakeshore Yacht Sales gave me that opportunity to advance into the sales aspect of the marine industry. During the summer, I can be found out on the water with my co-captain "Pops". Pops is my 8 year old Lab. We enjoy making trips to Beer Can Hill in the evening, as well as on the weekends.

I grew up the son of School Teachers in Fennville, MI. We never had boats, nor were we on the water, but something drove me to the beaches and the water as a teenager. While I was in College, I bought my first boat. At the time I didn't know anything about boats, but I knew that I had to be on the water. That event changed my life more than I realized at the time. I was offered a job selling boats for the Dealership that I had purchased the boat from. I had never sold anything in my life and never thought of myself as a Salesman. I was 20 years old and said to myself "why not give it a shot". I did and I haven't looked back since. It has been a rollercoaster ride. In the late 90's and early 2000's anyone could make a living selling boats. It was in the late 2000's when a Boat Salesman or Boat Broker found out what they were made of. It would have been easy to have changed my line of work, but my passion for boating was just too strong to think of doing anything else.
